Start With the Home
The technology matters, but the finished building matters more. Eze-Panel builds with large, individually shaped natural logs while using modern manufacturing to do much of the difficult fitting work before the logs reach the building site.
What you see in the finished home is the timber — its diameter, taper, sweep and individual character.
Natural Logs, Not Identical Logs
Trees do not grow straight, round or identical. We do not need them to. Each log is measured individually and manufactured according to its actual shape.
The computer and robot do not make the logs identical. They allow us to work accurately with the fact that the logs are not identical.
A Traditional Material. A Different Manufacturing Process.
Traditional handcrafted log building works with the natural shape of every log. So do we. The difference is how much of the measuring, fitting and cutting is done.
We scan the timber, work with the actual log geometry in the computer, calculate the connections and machine them before the structure reaches the building site.
The scanner, software and robots are manufacturing tools. What remains visible is the timber.
Explore the Homes
There is more to a natural-log home than the way the logs are cut. Log size, design, timber, connections and the manufacturing method all affect the finished building.
The pages in this section look at those choices without hiding the differences between milled logs, traditional handcrafting and the way we build.
